How Gaza used AI to fool the whole planet

Reading Time: 2 minutes

This here is Ahmed, a child in Gaza. Isn’t it sad to see such an innocent child in the middle of a war-torn country? Imagine you and your child in the same condition and scenario, you would like to get help and sympathy too, possibly some help from Europe or the west and send more aid! I bet you and everyone you know thinks this is really really sad. Especially if it’s true. IF! But this isn’t Ahmed. This isn’t even a real child. It’s not even a real photo.

In the first week after October 7th 2023, the first images came out showing a high level of children and women being hurt or smeared in blood or dirt. The propaganda factory was running at a 100% , 24/7.

The reality was and still is, that these are AI generated images. Of course the reality of war is a nasty thing, no one is denying that people are dying and that it’s bad in general. But Hamas and their propaganda machine have taken it too far. They convinced the world that the Jews are Nazis. They convinced the international court and other big entities of the very same thing.

So now we have the whole continent of Europe and every student dorm in the United States thinking they need to protest their governments for hurting these innocent babies and mothers. This goes hand in hand with Hamas showing death tolls way higher than the actual numbers. And way higher child and women mortality rates. Even the total population in Gaza itself has been on the rise. There are now more people in Gaza than before the war.

Major Andrew fox who is an disinformation expert on the subject, states that they have found evidence of these practices as well as evidence of falsifying the age of the deceased individual to fit the narrative. The narrative being IDF is bad, Israel and the jews are all baby killers.

In conclusion:

Be weary of AI generated images in news articles. Be aware that generating such images cost less time than boiling an egg for your Sunday morning breakfast. It really takes zero to no effort for anyone to generate these images. Especially nowadays where you can do this from your phone and upload it to Twitter or Threads.
